Sarasota Fishing Report
Sarasota Inshore Fishing Forecast
Spring is in the air. Warmer weather brings pleasant days and tight lines onboard our fleet of inshore boats. Without a doubt this is my favorite season to accompany guests in our backcountry waters of Charlotte Harbor. As the lively bait schools flow into our pristine estuaries the feel of energized hungry fish is electrifying. Topwater baits work very well and offer incredible excitement as they are attacked and ultimately blown out of the water by species like snook, redfish and trout. Nearshore cobia are moving around as well as arriving tarpon schools as they begin their spawn and occupation of Boca Grande Pass during the summer months. My favorite inshore species goliath grouper (up to 700lbs) are abundant and available on our daily charters. Sarasota is only a short drive from Englewood which is a premier angling destination in Florida. Come on down and enjoy the areas best family friendly service with Captain Chris O’Neill of Tail Chaser Charter Services, only minutes away from the “tarpon capital of the world”. No hustle, no bustle, just pristine backcountry shallow water fishing.

Grouper and amberjack top the list of big rod benders, followed up by various snapper species that make wonderful table fare. Beachside anglers can expect migrating tarpon, kingfish, spanish mackerel, bonita and a host of others. Also be on the look out for cobia cruising along the beach in search of an easy meal.
